I know that it has been a very, very long time since anything has been posted on this blog.  To be honest I’m not sure where to start or how to begin what I’m about to say.

Kevin and I have been separated for over 2 years.  I have given him chances and more chances.  I gave him an ultimatum with a list like counseling, getting a job and saving up money so we can be together. I extended the deadline.  I needed signs that Kevin loved me and wanted to repair our marriage.  Instead he pulled away, not talking to me for about 2 months while he read books related to his thesis. He called me a distraction. Grrrr.

Kevin made so many bad choices in our marriage. He made quite a few bad choices since we have been separated. Plus there were so many broken promises… To be honest Kevin put me in an extremely tough spot.  I prayed. I thought. I talked to my counselor.  I talked to my priest. I listened, talked and prayed some more til I came to a very sad conclusion.

Our marriage cannot be saved.  I have filed for divorce and will start the annulment process after our divorce is final.

I hope all your celebrations over Christmas were filled with much joy and blessings.

Jesus The Son of God was born on Christmas morn.  Love touched upon our world that very special day.  God is Love.  Jesus is love.

A new year has begun. 2016.  What is this year going to bring us?  Are we going to better our lives?  When opportunities come your way are you going to say yes?  I wonder what the political landscape in our country is going to look like.  Are we going to work on our interior lives?

May God guide each of your personal journeys in 2016.

Happy New Year!!

Okay, I need to get to my husband Kevin Rice. He broke his fibula and will be having surgery on it. Because of eviction, financial stuff and other crap we have been separated. I need to take care of him. Looking for job around Boca Raton, Delray Beach area. Praying…

Kevin is probably out of surgery by now.

This is so…. I don’t know. Crazy.

I had already bought plane ticket to see him for our anniversary.  God is calling on me to move to Florida and take care of my husband. So unexpected. But everything happens for a reason. Relying on Jesus for guidance.

Asking for prayers.

I have been away from blogging for far too long.  I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years celebrations were merry, terrific, and filled with friends and family.  So much has happened with politics, religion, and in the world since the beginning of November.  The latest is the attacks in Paris, a new congress having been sworn in, and the Pope is in the Philippines.

Yes I believe my life is in limbo.  My husband and I are still separated due to financial circumstances.  I am still waiting for him to kick it in gear and find a job or do something which can support the both of us.  We were able to spend the Thanksgiving holiday together.  That was very good.  Unfortunately we spent Christmas apart.  It was pretty good under the circumstances. At least I was able to spend it with some of my family.  But it also wasn’t okay cause Kevin wasn’t with me. I miss him so much.  I just so pray and hope he takes care of what he needs to do so we can be together soon.

Unfortunately I was denied on my disability appeal.  That was very disappointing and frustrating for me. Now my lawyer is helping me appeal that decision. I am reading a very informative book on various therapies and medicines to help fibromyalgia.  Unfortunately some of the medicines are a bit pricey.

Plus we are keeping our options open for moving.  What place may be better for my fibro and better employment for my hubby.

I spend time in prayer often. Praying that our situation improves. Praying for others in need. Praying for the world. Praying for peace. Praying for our military.

God Bless.

Is this climb up the mountain ever going to end?  I feel like as time goes by life just gets tougher.  Those who have been following this blog for a while know that my health issues have worsened over the past five years.  Then you add onto that financial, car, and apartment issues. Even though at the present time I feel like I’m climbing up Mt. Everest I can feel God’s presence, Him saying “Be patient. Trust me. Things will be better soon.”  I have definitely been relying on my faith to help me get through this.  God is good. God is love. God is there for us to lean on.

Due to my dealing with some major issues I have for the most part been absent from the blogosphere.  Hopefully things will be resolved soon and I will be back to blogging regularly.  God Bless.

The movie “Son of God” is presently playing in theaters.  This looks to be a good, wholesome movie.  Catholic News Service (CNS) has posted a review of “Son of God”.  Due to prevalent gory violence in the film CNS recommends that only adults view the movie.  It is rated PG-13.  This is the first movie to cover the entire life of Jesus since the 1977 miniseries “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Here is part of the review by CNS:

The screenwriters, led by Nic Young, find an efficient entree into their narrative by entrusting it to an aged St. John the Evangelist (Sebastian Knapp) during his exile on the island of Patmos. This is theologically helpful because the opening lines of the Beloved Disciple’s Gospel, as recited here, describe the Incarnation, a mystery without which all that follows could easily be misconstrued.

Thus Judas (Joe Wredden), Caiaphas the high priest (Adrian Schiller) and Pontius Pilate (Greg Hicks) are all assigned believable motives, while Morgado succeeds in blending messianic vision with very human pain in a thoroughly compelling way — one that accords, moreover, with the scriptural account.

Catholic viewers will also appreciate the unqualified acknowledgement of St. Peter (Darwin Shaw) as the leader of the Apostles as well as scenes highlighting Mary’s (Roma Downey) closeness to her son. And, though the portrayal of the Last Supper seems somewhat noncommittal as to the meaning of the Eucharist, a rough-and-ready celebration of the sacrament is shown to be the chosen moment for the Lord’s first post-Resurrection appearance to the Twelve.

“Son of God” expounds on last year’s miniseries “The Bible.”  Are you Looking forward to seeing the movie?  Yes. I’m not sure whether I’m going to see the “Son of God” in the theater or wait til it comes to Red Box.

babynovoiceTo progressives yes.  For conservatives no.  Pro-choicers yes.  Pro-lifers no. I really hope that we can all agree that each of our lives started in our mothers’ wombs and that if our mothers had aborted us we would not be living today.  For some reason the pro-choice crowd views unborn babies as life that is less worthy of living, so much so that they believe that they have the right to choose to end human life in the womb for whatever reason they deem fit.  Pro-lifers believe that every human life is precious, worthy of human dignity, and that the human life in the womb has just as much of a right to live as persons outside the womb.  Pro-choice individuals by advocating for abortion rights are denying human beings the right to life which is guaranteed in our Constitution.

Question:  Pro-choicers do you believe that you were less of a human being while you were in your mother’s womb?

Tim Kowal at League of Ordinary Gentleman gathered data from a survey which reveals that a majority of Americans are for making abortion illegal after the first trimester.  In his post “Human Life is not too controversial” Tim focuses on the Texas bill which bans abortions after the embryo is 20 weeks. This bill just passed the Texas House and is now onto the Senate.  There is already a Texas law which requires women who are  seeking an abortion to have an ultrasound and listen to a description of what it shows.  Tim says, “the rhetorical case for protecting the unborn has succeeded.”  I agree with that for the most part.  I would add that the medical evidence supports that human life exists in the womb during pregnancy and that biology also recognizes that a new human life begins at the moment of conception.  So why is abortion still legal? I agree with Tim when he argues that the media has much influence over the abortion debate.  Since most of the media is pro-choice there hasn’t been a change with regards to abortion on the national level.  I would also add that over half of the members of Congress support abortions.  The media and pro-choice lawmakers have a way of appealing to women’s emotions, justifying abortion on this basis instead of looking at the reality, that two human lives are involved and that abortion kills an innocent human life.  In addition, pro-choice supporters refuse to look at the harmful physical and/or psychological effects that women go through after having had an abortion.  These two have a great amount of power and that is the reason why there hasn’t been a piece of legislation passed limiting abortion, amending Roe v. Wade.

Knowing when human life begins is not complicated and is not controversial either. When the male gamete and the female gamete, the sperm and oocyte, unites this is called fertilization. At the moment of fertilization a new cell called a zygote is formed and human development begins.  There are a number of biology/embriology texts that support this scientific fact.

“Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm (spermatozoo development) unites with a female gamete or oocyte (ovum) to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marked the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.”

“A zygote is the beginning of a new human being (i.e., an embryo).”

Keith L. Moore, The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, 7th edition. Philadelphia, PA: Saunders, 2003. pp. 16, 2.

“[The zygote], formed by the union of an oocyte and a sperm, is the beginning of a new human being.”

Keith L. Moore, Before We Are Born: Essentials of Embryology, 7th edition. Philadelphia, PA: Saunders, 2008. p. 2.

“It is the penetration of the ovum by a spermatozoan and resultant mingling of the nuclear material each brings to the union that constitutes the culmination of the process of fertilization and marks the initiation of the life of a new individual.”

Clark Edward Corliss, Patten’s Human Embryology: Elements of Clinical Development. New York: McGraw Hill, 1976. p. 30.

At fertilization a new human being starts developing. This human being will grow and thrive if allowed.  For pro-lifers such as myself the fact that a new life begins at fertilization is not a hard concept for us to grasp. The fact that this new human life is precious, is developing and has the right to survive, the right to life as the Constitution states, is not a hard concept for pro-lifers to comprehend.  We understand that abortion means the death of the embryo/unborn baby.  There is nothing that justifies the direct purposeful killing of an innocent life, an innocent unborn baby.

For some reason many pro-choice individuals are unable to grasp the fact that the embryo is in fact a human life and that every human life in every stage of development has the right to live, the right to be given a chance to live.  They want to make the abortion issue about “choice” and doing whatever women want with their own bodies.  The major problem with that saying is abortion is not primarily about their own bodies.  Abortion affects the new living human being that is developing.  Why should an individual be given the choice to kill another life, another human being?  Just because it is dependent on the mother? If that is the case why not the justification to kill babies outside the womb who are dependent on their mothers?  Pro-aborts treat new human life so callously that they treat the unborn like disposable waste. To pro-aborts the unborn fall way down low on the totem pole in terms of importance and value compared to finances, believing that pregnancy will ruin the mother’s life, the mother’s choice not to take the unborn baby to term for a number of reasons, thinking that women should have control over their own bodies (when this isn’t the case; it involves two bodies the mother and baby),  and believing unborn life is less important because of the unborn baby’s size and the baby is still developing.  I cringe when I hear these words.  It saddens me that some people choose might over what’s right. There are so many couples waiting to adopt a baby but due to abortions there is a long wait list.  Making a sacrifice of self and doing what is good and right for the unborn baby is the ultimate act of love.

Here is a video which shows amazing medical visualization from conception to birth.

The miracle of life.  Say yes to human rights for the unborn.
