Okay, I need to get to my husband Kevin Rice. He broke his fibula and will be having surgery on it. Because of eviction, financial stuff and other crap we have been separated. I need to take care of him. Looking for job around Boca Raton, Delray Beach area. Praying…

Kevin is probably out of surgery by now.

This is so…. I don’t know. Crazy.

I had already bought plane ticket to see him for our anniversary.  God is calling on me to move to Florida and take care of my husband. So unexpected. But everything happens for a reason. Relying on Jesus for guidance.

Asking for prayers.

I just returned from a visit with my parents and other family members.  I had a great time.  I got to see my sister and brother-in-law who I haven’t seen in about 2 years.  My brother and his family also came up to visit for a day.   But most of all I am so happy that I was able to see my parents, especially my mom before she has surgery in mid-August.  We also celebrated my mom’s birthday. I am so blessed to have superbly fun and cute nieces, awesomely caring sisters and brothers, and wonderfully loving parents.  I am asking for prayers for my mom.  She has had a tremor where her neck and head shakes pretty badly that has progressively gotten worse over the last 10-15 years.  My mom is supposed to have an operation by a neurosurgeon to stop her tremors.  I have been and will continue to pray that the surgery stops her tremors.  Her surgery is August 20.  If that one works, then she will have another surgery a couple days later where what I think is a defibrillater will be placed by her heart.  I am praying that God heals my mom and she gets relief from her tremors and headaches.  God Bless.

Today there were 50 to 60 people injured when a car drove into hikers in a parade in Virginia.  Yesterday evening there were two trains in Conn. that collided with one another during evening rush hour.   There were dozens injured in the train collision.  The victims and their families are in my prayers.  May God’s healing touch come upon them.  Here is a prayer for those injured in the two accidents and all those who need healing. God Bless.

O Lord our God and Savior, You rule over all things; You are our physician and comfort in sickness; You deliver us from pain. You stretched forth your hand to save your apostle Peter as he was sinking in water. Grant now your merciful aid to all those in need of healing.  We trustingly call on You, to restore health in your loving kindness. O long-suffering Lord, show us your compassion and mercy that I may glorify your divine power and bless your holy Name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. Amen.

Isaiah 58:8  Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you, the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

Luke 9:11 When the crowds learned it, they followed him; and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and cured those who had need of healing.

What was supposed to be a momentous day of fun and happiness turned into tragedy when two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon.  It has been ruled a terrorist attack.  Among the three dead is an 8-year-old child.  All the marathon runners, victims, family members, and everyone who attended the marathon are in my thoughts and prayers.  May the family and friends of the dead be comforted in their grief.  May God’s healing touch come upon those who are injured.

Here are some pictures from the scene of the explosions:

Prayer to Our Lady in Time of Trouble

Holy Virgin Mary, you are reigning in glory, with Jesus, your Son.
Remember us in our sadness. Look kindly on all who are suffering
or fighting against any difficulty.
Have pity on those who are separated from someone they love.
Have pity on the loneliness of our hearts.
Have pity on the weakness of our faith and love.
Have pity on those who are weeping, on those who are praying, on those who are fearful.
Holy Mother, please obtain for all of us hope and peace with justice.

Mary’s Peace Prayer

Mary, Mother of God my mother, Queen of Peace, ask your Son Jesus to
give me the gift of peace. Pray for me for peace; peace in my heart, peace
of mind and of soul, peace in my family, peace with all whom I meet, the
peace of Jesus.
Jesus, my Lord and Savior, my Brother, King of Peace, I come to you
with Mary, Queen of Peace, to ask you humbly for a new outpouring of the
gift of peace. Pour out on me your Holy Spirit of Peace.
Give me peace, Jesus, peace within myself, peace in my family, peace in
my everyday life. Give peace to my nation, and to all nations, peace among
all peoples, peace in the world.
Jesus, my mediator with the Father, take me to the Father to pray for
Father, Father of Jesus, our Father, my Father, I come to you with your
Son Jesus. In Him and with Him and through Him I pray for peace.

Tragedy struck at an elementary school in Connecticut today. Twenty children had their lives cut short, way too soon, by an unstable gunman. Six adults met the same fate. And the shooter took his own life. My heart breaks for the families. This is an extremely sad day. Our nation is in mourning for the victims and their loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to all in that Connecticut community, especially the family and friends of those who lost their lives today.  May God comfort them in their time of need.

Ya know how life can throw a curve ball every now and then, well…. I just returned home from the hospital. Yesterday I started having chest pains, some severe intermittent shooting pains and other pain that was a bad ache that stayed there all the time.  Needless to say I knew that this was something that I couldn’t ignore so my hubby picked me up from work and we headed to the emergency room.  Since the docs weren’t sure whether the pain was caused by my heart or something else they ran some tests. Thankfully by the early evening they were pretty sure it didn’t have anything to do with my heart but they decided to admit me to the hospital to make sure.  All the doctors and nurses were superb and treated me extremely well during my stay.  This morning the doctor told me that I have something called costochondritis which can cause a similar type of pain to the chest like the pain associated with a heart attack. I am exhausted so I will be relaxing today. Hopefully I will be back to visiting everyone’s blogs by tomorrow.  Have a great weekend!

Here are two prayers for the sick.

Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.

Prayer for the Sick
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love’s sake. Amen.

I have just learned that Rick Santorum’s 3-year-old daughter, Bella, has been admitted to Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.  Rick Santorum has noted throughout his campaign that she was born with Trisomy 18.  Bella recently had surgery.  The Santorums have spoken about how precious their little girl is and how much they love her.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports:

The three-year-old daughter of Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has been admitted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the candidate has cancelled his Sunday morning campaign events to be at her side.

Santorum campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley said Saturday night that the former Pennsylvania senator and his wife, Karen, were with Bella at CHOP. Gidley said Santorum planned to return to campaigning as soon as possible in Florida, where the Republican primary is Tuesday.

Bella Santorum has Trisomy 18, a genetic condition caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 18th chromosome. Bella was not expected to survive until her first birthday and concerns over her health have canceled previous Santorum campaign events.

During his campaign, Santorum and his wife have spoken openly about the challenges and rewards of raising a child with such a condition.

The Santorums have six other children; they lost a baby boy, Gabriel, shortly after his birth in 1996. Bella was born in 2008; two years later, Santorum wrote about her in an Inquirer column.

“All children are a gift that comes with no guarantees,” he wrote. “While Bella’s life may not be long, and though she requires our constant care, she is worth every tear.”

Bella, whose full name is Isabella Maria Santorum, has become a symbol of his pro-life stance, as he claimed that most infants diagnosed in the womb with Trisomy 18 are aborted.

Dr. Scott Hahn, a theology professor at Franciscan University, had his colon rupture.   Before the surgery a priest made it in time to administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the sick.  He had eighteen inches of his colon removed.   He had a successful surgery.  Scott Hahn’s wife Kimberly said that he is coping well due to being given morphine but tomorrow (meaning today) will be a tough day because he will be forced to get up and move around. She asked for prayer that the stitches hold and no infection sets in.  My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

From Dr. Hahn: “Came out of successful two-hour surgery with lots of gratitude and pain. Will be in hospital for next 3-5 days; 2-4 weeks in recovery. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. AMDG”

Here is a prayer for those recovering from surgery.

Blessed Savior, we thank you that Scott Hahn’s operation is safely past, and now he is resting in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of his being. In moments of pain we turn to you for strength, in times of loneliness we feel your loving nearness.  Jesus, we ask that your life and love and joy may flow through us for the healing of others in your name. Amen.

Here is a healing prayer.

Jesus, Master Physician of all times, Your Divinity did not require a Ph.D. Eagerly, You resurrected the dead, Restoring the health of the sick. Be it physical or spiritual torment, None were a great obstacle to You: For Your loving power is omnipotent. We ask for Your abounding healing love; Maintain his body and soul vigorous So he may fulfill his daily functions. The world will be conquered by You, All afflictions will be dissipated!
